The quick reaction mechanism (QRM) proposed by the European Commission is aimed at enabling the Member States of the European Union to combat and prevent VAT fraud more efficiently. In this article, the authors describe the functioning of the QRM and the reasons why the Council of the European Union has not quickly reacted by adopting the Commission’s proposal.
